Q: Is a rear strut brace really necessary on a car this new?

The 2021+ Model S uses its battery pack as a structural element, which lowers the center of gravity but leaves the upper chassis free to flex. You feel that flex as body sway and interior noise. Even purpose-built sports cars like the 911 GT3 RS and GT-R Nismo ship with rear strut braces, and the gains on the Model S chassis are larger. Driving is believing.
