Q: Why would a Tesla Plaid need a parachute mount to drag race?
Many drag strips and sanctioning bodies require a parachute once a car exceeds 150 mph, and a Plaid gets there in the quarter mile. This mount lets a factory Model S or Model X Plaid stay compliant at NHRA and IHRA events by giving you a proper place to mount a chute. It solves a rules problem, not a performance one: without a compliant setup, fast cars get turned away.
