Q: Platinum Detail versus a regular hand wash: what am I actually paying for?
A wash removes loose dirt. This package decontaminates, meaning embedded iron particles and stubborn tar come out of the paint chemically before the SiO2 wash and glaze go on. A standard wash leaves those contaminants behind and just cleans around them. The gap shows up in how the paint feels and how long it stays protected.
