Q: Should a stored spare have its own TPMS sensor?
For a spare that mostly sits in storage, you have a choice. Add a sensor and it reports pressure the moment the wheel goes on the truck; leave it out and you get a temporary TPMS warning until one is fitted. Since this 18-inch wheel may sit for months before it is needed, plenty of owners spec a sensor so the spare is fully road-ready the day it comes off the rack.
