Q: What does a TPMS sensor do, and do I really need one?

A TPMS sensor sits inside each wheel and reports live tire pressure to your Tesla’s display, warning you before a slow leak or an underinflated tire becomes a blowout. You need a working set in any wheel you run; without them the car flags a fault and you lose the pressure readout. These are a direct replacement for the factory Tesla sensors and are sold in sets of four.
