Q: What is the design story behind the CYBRHEX on a Model Y?

It came out of a collaboration with designer Sasha Selipanov, whose angular, neo-futurist surfacing gives the wheel a look that reads almost like CGI in person. That face is distinctive on a Model Y, yet it is not styling for its own sake: underneath it is forged from 6061-T6 aluminum, engineered around Tesla hardware, and built for EV weight and torque. The look and the engineering were developed together.
