Q: Why are these knurled inside the barrel?
The UP-05 has knurled wheel beads machined into the barrel to grip the tire bead and reduce slip under hard acceleration. On a Plaid making instant torque, a tire can rotate slightly on a smooth barrel during launches, which throws off balance. The knurling holds it in place. Small detail, but it’s the kind of thing that only shows up once you’re driving the car hard.
