Q: Why does an off-road Model Y need a big brake kit?

Adding larger, heavier off-road wheels and tires and lifting the car changes braking demands, so the package includes an Iron Front Big Brake Kit with a 394mm 6-piston caliper to keep stopping power in step with the new hardware. Bigger rolling stock and trail use put more load through the brakes, and matching the brakes to the build keeps the car confident on descents and loaded runs rather than under-braked.
