Q: Why forged wheels for a police-duty build instead of cheaper cast ones?
Forging aligns the grain structure of the aluminum, so the wheel tends to bend rather than crack when it takes a hard impact, and it does the job at lower weight than a cast or steel wheel. Less rotating mass helps acceleration and steering response. For pursuit use that pounds potholes and heavy payloads, that toughness-to-weight ratio is the whole point.
