With spherical bushings the car can be aligned with far greater accuracy, and it holds that alignment under load, so tires track the intended path instead of scrubbing through micro-movements. Worn bushings also allow unintended wheel motion that chews tire shoulders. Fix the deflection and the alignment stops chasing itself.
