Q: Will upgrading my brake pads void my Model S warranty?
Swapping pads does not automatically void Tesla’s warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot deny coverage just because you fitted an aftermarket part unless it shows that part caused the failure. Our pads are engineered to work with the OEM brake system and can be professionally installed by Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne. Brake pads are consumables, so expect normal wear rather than warranty replacement over time.
