TESLA CYBERTRUCK UP INVINCIBLE® 2.5-INCH LIFT KIT
More than two years. Thousands of miles. One race. Here is the lift kit that actually earned it.
A lot of companies are working on a lift kit for the Cybertruck. We have actually built one, tested it in the real world, broken it, rebuilt it, and raced it.
Why It Took So Long
The Cybertruck is not a conventional truck. Anyone who has spent real time with one off-road knows that beneath the stainless steel exterior, you are dealing with a vehicle that is genuinely different from anything that came before it. Factory air suspension with multiple ride height modes. Steer-by-wire with no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. Rear-wheel steering for tighter turning radius and better stability. Ride height sensors integrated into the suspension geometry. These are not features you can ignore when you start lifting the truck. They are features you have to build around.
Early on, we discovered something that motivated the entire development program. The factory upper control arm on the Cybertruck has limited range of motion. When the truck is pushed hard off-road, under heavy compression, the upper control arm can contact the body of the vehicle. In some extreme scenarios, this causes real damage. It was a fundamental limitation that a simple spacer lift would not address and could actually make it worse.
On top of that, the most common approach we saw in the market was alarming to us. Lifting the Cybertruck by tricking the ride height sensors causes the factory air suspension to overextend in order to reach the desired height. When you lift the suspension without any supporting modifications, you risk losing all suspension droop and potentially causing shock piston failure at full extension. That kind of failure does not happen in your driveway. It happens on a trail, at speed, in the middle of nowhere. We knew from the start that this approach was not acceptable so we built something better.
How the Cybertruck Lift Kit Actually Works
The UP INVINCIBLE® 2.5-inch Lift Kit is a system that sits between the subframe and the chassis of the vehicle. This is the critical distinction. By lifting the body relative to the subframe, you gain 2.5 inches of ground clearance while the factory suspension continues to operate exactly as Tesla designed it. The air suspension still manages ride height. The shocks still move through their full designed range of motion. Nothing is being tricked, overextended, or stressed beyond its intended limits.
Because the body moves up but the subframe stays in its original position relative to the wheels, we had to develop new high-clearance front and rear upper control arms to accommodate the new geometry and maintain the correct sensor positions for the factory air suspension. These arms are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum using 5-axis CNC equipment. They are fully adjustable for camber, caster, and toe, so your alignment can be dialed in correctly regardless of how you have the truck set up. Uprated bushings and joints throughout the kit mean you are not trading durability for capability.
The kit also includes a strong underbody armor system designed to compensate for the new vehicle height and protect the truck’s underside during off-road use. The underbody protection also smooths airflow underneath the front and rear subframe, which helps offset some of the aerodynamic impact of the increased ride height. Note that the underbody protection is designed to work with the UP INVINCIBLE front and rear bumpers only.
Built and Broken and Built Again
The best part of this story is not that we built a lift kit. It is that we were honest enough to race it before we sold it.
Earlier this year, we installed the prototype lift kit on the only Cybertruck competing in the Las Vegas Mint 400, one of the most demanding off-road races in the United States. It is the kind of race where the terrain finds every weakness in your design within the first few miles. And sure enough, it found one. An attachment pin failed on course. We had to stop, repair the truck with help from the off-road community on the spot, and keep going.
We did not officially complete the race with that pin failure. But here is what that day gave us: a real failure under conditions that 99.99% of Cybertruck owners will never come close to replicating. We know exactly what broke, why it broke, and what it took to fix it. No simulation, no test bench, no closed course could have given us that data.
Our engineers went back, redesigned the failed component from scratch with a fully reinforced construction, and reduced the overall component count to eliminate other potential points of failure. The goal was straightforward: make the system stronger and more robust in every dimension. What you are buying now is that final, production-ready iteration. Not the prototype. Not the race version. The version that was designed knowing exactly where the limits are.
Where a Lift Kit Makes a Real Difference
The Cybertruck already has impressive factory ground clearance. The lift kit is not for people who want to drive to the grocery store a little higher. It is for the owner who actually uses their truck as a truck.
If you are running dirt trails, rocky terrain, steep and uneven driveways, or heading deep into areas where the terrain demands real ground clearance, the difference between the factory setup and 19.5 inches of clearance is the difference between getting through and getting stuck. The improved approach, breakover, and departure angles mean you can attack obstacles at steeper angles without scraping the front or rear of the truck. The optimized upper control arm geometry means your suspension can do its job under hard off-road compression without running out of travel.
For overlanding, the additional clearance means more confidence on rough fire roads and remote trails. For off-road enthusiasts who run trails rated for modified vehicles, this is the version of the Cybertruck that was built for that environment.
Living With the Lift Kit Day to Day, Including Full Self-Driving
One of the most common questions we get is how this kit interacts with Full Self-Driving. The short answer is that because the lift kit retains the full factory suspension and sensor systems, the truck continues to function as Tesla designed it from a software perspective. FSD uses cameras, radar, and onboard sensors to navigate, and nothing about this lift kit interferes with those systems. The ride height modes remain fully operational, so if you use FSD for highway commuting, the truck can still lower itself for efficiency just as it would from the factory.
That said, Tesla continues to develop and update FSD, and we cannot predict every way the software might evolve. Our approach has always been to build hardware that works with the factory systems rather than replacing them, so if Tesla pushes an update that changes how ride height logic works, the factory system underneath is still intact and able to adapt. As always, we recommend staying current with Tesla software updates and monitoring any relevant changes that may affect modified vehicles.
*Note that this lift kit may reduce range at highway speeds due to the increased ride height and aerodynamic profile.
The Only Lift Kit That Has Raced a Cybertruck
There are competitors working on lift kits for the Cybertruck. We have already raced ours, broken it, fixed it, and redesigned it. We have put in over two years of development, real-world off-road testing, overlanding, and highway miles. The UP INVINCIBLE® 2.5-inch Lift Kit is the product that came out of all of that. If you want a lift kit that was proven under the most punishing conditions before it ever shipped to a customer, this is it.

Can I still daily drive my Cybertruck after installing the lift kit?
Absolutely. Because the factory air suspension, ride height modes, steer-by-wire, rear steering, and FSD all remain fully functional, the lifted Cybertruck loses none of its on-road civility. The fully adjustable billet control arms allow a proper camber, caster, and toe alignment, so steering feel and tire wear stay in check, which is something basic spacer lifts cannot offer. The truck can still lower itself at highway speeds for efficiency and comfort. In practice, the daily driving experience remains remarkably close to stock, with the added benefit that a weekend trail or an unplowed road is never a problem. The main tradeoff is a modest range penalty at sustained highway speeds.
What should I pair with the lift kit for a serious off-road build?
The lift kit is the foundation, but Unplugged Performance designed the UP INVINCIBLE line as a complete system. The UP INVINCIBLE front and rear bumpers dramatically improve approach and departure angles while adding recovery points and mounting options, and the matching underbody protection shields the front and rear subframe from rock strikes while smoothing airflow to recover some efficiency. Package options bundle the lift kit with these components so a complete build can be ordered at once. Beyond armor, owners planning aggressive terrain should consider dedicated off-road tires for additional grip and sidewall protection, and Unplugged Performance can advise on wheel and tire fitment that works with the lifted geometry.
Does the kit preserve suspension travel and articulation off-road?
Yes, and this is one of the most important differences between the UP INVINCIBLE kit and cheaper alternatives. Because the kit lifts the body relative to the subframe rather than tricking the sensors into overextending the air shocks, the full factory suspension travel and droop are preserved. Off-road, that matters enormously: suspension droop is what keeps tires in contact with the ground over uneven terrain, maintaining traction and control. Sensor-based lifts sacrifice that droop and risk topping out the shocks over whoops and drops, which is exactly the kind of abuse that destroys air suspension components. With the Unplugged Performance approach, there is no risk of topping out the air shocks, so the truck can absorb terrain the way its suspension was designed to.
How capable is a lifted Cybertruck off-road?
Very capable, and more so than the height figure alone suggests. With up to 19.5 inches of ground clearance and improved approach, breakover, and departure angles, a Cybertruck equipped with the UP INVINCIBLE kit can handle rutted fire roads, rocky trails, deep sand, and desert terrain that would stop the stock truck. The kit’s credentials are not theoretical either: Unplugged Performance validated the design at the Las Vegas Mint 400, one of the harshest off-road races in the United States. Combined with the Cybertruck’s instant electric torque, locking capabilities, and adjustable air suspension, the lifted truck becomes a genuinely serious off-road machine rather than a mall crawler with a taller stance.
Do I need UP INVINCIBLE bumpers to add the underbody protection?
Yes. The underbody protection is designed to work exclusively with the Unplugged Performance UP INVINCIBLE front and rear bumpers, as the components integrate as a system rather than as standalone parts. If you already own the bumpers, there is a package option that pairs the lift kit with the underbody protection alone. If you are starting from scratch, the full bundle includes the lift kit, both bumpers, and the underbody protection together, which is the most complete way to prepare a Cybertruck for serious off-road use.
Will the lift kit reduce my Cybertruck’s driving range?
It may reduce range at highway speeds. Raising any vehicle increases its frontal area and disrupts the underbody airflow that the Cybertruck’s efficiency depends on, so some aerodynamic penalty at speed is expected. The optional Unplugged Performance underbody protection helps offset part of this by smoothing airflow beneath the front and rear subframe. Around town and off-road, where aerodynamics matter far less, the impact on range is minimal. Owners who split their time between trails and highways should simply plan for slightly more frequent charging on long road trips.
Has this lift kit actually been tested off-road?
It is the only Cybertruck lift kit that has been developed, tested, and validated in real off-road racing. Unplugged Performance ran the prototype at the Las Vegas Mint 400, one of the most punishing off-road races in the United States. During the race, an attachment pin failed on course, and rather than hiding that result, the company used it to improve the product: the component was redesigned with reinforced construction and a reduced part count. The version that ships to customers is that final, race-proven iteration, not the prototype that entered the desert.
Can I get a proper alignment after installing the lift kit?
Yes, and this is a key advantage over simpler lift solutions. The billet upper control arms included in the kit are fully adjustable for camber, caster, and toe, so a shop can dial in the alignment correctly regardless of how the truck is configured or loaded. Basic spacer lifts throw suspension geometry off with no means of correction, which leads to uneven tire wear and compromised handling. The UP INVINCIBLE kit was designed so that a lifted Cybertruck can still be aligned to proper specifications.
What is included in the kit?
The UP INVINCIBLE lift kit is a comprehensive 26-piece package that includes everything needed for a complete installation. The centerpiece components are new high-clearance front and rear upper control arms machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, paired with uprated bushings and joints, and stainless steel hardware throughout. Unplugged Performance also offers package options that bundle the lift kit with UP INVINCIBLE front and rear bumpers and matching underbody protection, allowing owners to build out a complete off-road setup in one order.
Does the kit work with steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering?
Yes. The Cybertruck’s steer-by-wire system and rear-wheel steering are unlike anything else on the market, and Unplugged Performance engineered this kit around those systems from day one rather than adapting a generic truck lift. Both systems remain fully functional after installation, with no recalibration workarounds or lost functionality. This is one of the advantages of a kit developed specifically for the Cybertruck by a company that specializes in Tesla vehicles.
Is the lift kit compatible with Full Self-Driving (FSD)?
Yes. Because the UP INVINCIBLE kit retains the complete factory suspension and sensor systems, Full Self-Driving continues to function as Tesla designed it. Nothing about the kit interferes with the cameras or onboard sensors that FSD relies on, and the truck retains its ability to adjust ride height automatically. Tesla’s software evolves constantly through over-the-air updates, so staying current is always recommended, but the factory hardware and sensor geometry underneath remain fully intact after installation.
Will the lift kit affect my factory air suspension and ride height modes?
No. The kit retains full factory air suspension functionality, including all ride height adjustability and every suspension mode Tesla offers. The included high-clearance upper control arms are designed to maintain correct sensor positions, so the truck’s suspension logic continues working exactly as intended. Your Cybertruck can still lower itself at highway speeds for efficiency and raise itself for rough terrain, just as it did from the factory, only now with an additional 2.5 inches built into the baseline.
How does this lift kit work? Is it a sensor trick?
The UP INVINCIBLE kit is a mechanical lift that sits between the subframe and the chassis, raising the body relative to the subframe. The factory air suspension continues to operate exactly as Tesla designed it: nothing is tricked, overextended, or pushed beyond its intended operating range. This is fundamentally different from sensor-based lifts, which fool the suspension computer into running the air shocks at extended height. That approach sacrifices suspension droop and can cause shock piston failure when the damper reaches full extension repeatedly. Unplugged Performance engineered this 2.5-inch lift kit specifically to avoid those compromises.
How much lift and ground clearance does the UP INVINCIBLE kit provide?
The Unplugged Performance UP INVINCIBLE lift kit raises the Tesla Cybertruck by 2.5 inches, delivering up to 19.5 inches of total ground clearance. Beyond the raw height figure, the added clearance meaningfully improves the truck’s approach, breakover, and departure angles, which is what actually determines whether you clear an obstacle on a trail or drag the underbody across it. For owners who take their Cybertruck off pavement, that geometry improvement is the real-world benefit of the kit, not just a taller stance in the parking lot.
Will upgrading my brakes void the Tesla warranty?
Tesla’s warranty covers factory-installed parts, but it does not automatically void your warranty if you install aftermarket components like Unplugged Performance brake kits. Under U.S. law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), Tesla must prove that an aftermarket part caused a failure in order to deny warranty coverage. Our parts are engineered to work harmoniously with Tesla OEM Brake systems and can be professionally installed by Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne, CA or by an authorized installer to minimize risk. That said, any damage directly caused by misuse or improper installation may not be covered. We recommend retaining all factory parts so you can revert to stock if needed. Many Tesla owners enjoy peace of mind by using Unplugged Performance products, which are extensively tested and installed by certified professionals. If warranty concerns are top-of-mind, our team can help clarify compatibility and installation best practices to ensure a worry-free experience.
What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?
Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.
This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.
To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.
Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.
