Functional aero, no compromise
The Ascension RR wing is engineered to deliver maximum usable downforce with exceptional efficiency, while preserving rear window visibility and road usability. This is a true track-effective wing that makes a noticeable difference to handling.
The Ascension RR Rear Wing fits all 2024 and newer Tesla Model 3 Highland variants, including Performance, Long Range, and Rear Wheel Drive models. No matter which version you drive, the wing delivers the same core benefit: improved rear stability without sacrificing daily usability.
What the Wing Does for Your Model 3
At 150 mph, the wing generates 2332 N (238 kg) of rear downforce, counteracting the inherent rear lift created by the Model 3 roofline. When combined with the full Model 3 Performance aero package, total downforce reaches 3155 N (322 kg) with a 46/54 front-to-rear aero balance—ideal for a neutrally balanced, even-weight chassis like the Model 3 Performance.
Efficient Downforce Without Excess Drag
- 4:1 downforce-to-drag ratio (delta effect of the wing alone). Every 1 N (or kgf) of drag adds ~4 N (or kgf) of downforce.
- Designed to add meaningful downforce with minimal rear-wake disturbance
- A moderate wing angle combined with a wide span and optimized airfoil shape allows the wing to produce strong downforce while reducing drag and unwanted airflow disruption.
With the complete aero kit installed including this wing, the car achieves a CL of 0.48, placing it firmly in track-focused sports-car territory – especially notable given the stock car produces slight lift.
Aerodynamic design
- Near full-width wingspan, one of the most effective parameters for efficient downforce
- Width is maximized to the vehicle envelope; the wing aligns with the charge port when opened, protected by an integrated rubber bumper
- Custom airfoil, inspired by NACA 6415 but reshaped specifically for the Model 3 roof flow
- Variable profile across the span to match non-uniform roof airflow
- High camber enables strong downforce at lower AoA, reducing drag and wake interference
Adjustability
- 0° setting – most efficient configuration, low drag
- 4° setting – maximum output, up to 238 kg of rear downforce
Placement & structure
The wing is positioned as far rearward as possible, with significant overhang past the trunk edge:
- Reduces pressure interaction with the trunk surface, preserving net downforce
- Creates a longer lever arm, increasing aero balancing effectiveness, as the stock car is front-heavy.
The carbon wing stands are structurally optimized for the bending loads, extending up to the rear glass and mounting with 8 bolts per side for maximum stiffness and durability.
Adjustable for Street and Track Use
The Ascension RR Rear Wing includes adjustable settings so drivers can tailor performance to their needs. The zero degree setting offers maximum efficiency with minimal drag, making it well suited for spirited street driving and high speed cruising. The four degree setting delivers maximum output for track use, providing up to 238 kilograms of rear downforce.
An optional carbon gurney flap is available for drivers who want additional rear grip. It improves airflow attachment and increases pressure recovery at the trailing edge of the wing.
Integrated details
- Sculpted integrated endplates reduce pressure bleed, minimize vortices, and contribute to downforce themselves
- Optional Carbon gurney flap increases effectiveness by improving flow attachment under the wing and pressure recovery at the trailing edge
Materials
- Symmetrical 4×4 twill carbon fiber for a high-end, hypercar finish
- Wing and stands share the same carbon construction
- Exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio, ideal for sustained high aerodynamic loads
Designed for maximum performance. Built for the track. Refined enough for the road.
