Product Details
Elevate the front end of your 2026+ Tesla Model Y Performance with a front splitter that delivers real aerodynamic gains and a refined OEM+ look. Designed specifically for the Juniper generation and the Performance trim only, this front splitter replaces the factory lower trim and extends forward to create a stronger pressure differential between the top and bottom surfaces. The result is added front downforce, less high-pressure air flowing under the vehicle, and improved stability at speed. It is the foundation piece of our Model Y Performance Aero Package, and it ties the entire kit together visually and functionally for a cohesive, OEM+ appearance.
Manufacutred in druable black plastic, the High Efficiency Front Splitter is impact resistant. It installs easily in the OEM location but improves stability and efficeny by better controlling the flow of air under and over the Model Y Performance. The splitter is built to handle daily driving, long highway miles, and spirited weekend runs.  Each splitter features a gloss black surface that aligns with the finish of the original trim, so the upgrade looks integrated from day one.
Unplugged Performance’s ethos is that function should drive form and our parts should be functinoal. We wanted to reduce front lift on the Model Y Performance, not just simply make it look more purposeful without providing real-world benefits.  We validated the geometry through CFD development to ensure measurable improvement in downforce, stability, and efficency, not just a styling change. The extended shape and carefully designed underside work together to better suck the front of the car down for more grip while smoothing the airflow underneath. This reduces lift at the front axle and helps settle the car through fast sweepers, on track, and during sudden lane changes. Drivers will notice a more confident nose, better mid-corner consistency, and a planted feel at highway speeds, and a slightly more agressvie front fascia.
Installation is clean and completely reversible. The splitter mounts using ten factory-style snap-fit points, so there is no cutting, drilling, or permanent modification required. Remove the OE lower trim, position the splitter, and snap it into place for a secure, rattle-free fit. If you ever choose to revert to stock, the process takes only minutes and leaves the vehicle unchanged. This approach makes the splitter ideal for leased vehicles or owners who prefer upgrades that respect the integrity of the original bodywork.
While the front splitter performs well on its own, it was shaped to be the lead element in the larger Model Y Performance Aero Package. When combined with the Front Canard Set, Rear Diffuser Extension, Rear Fins, Efficiency Trunk Spoiler, and Carbon Mirror Covers, the package shifts the car from net lift to net downforce in CFD analyses. The pieces share materials, finishes, and mounting methods to ensure everything looks like it belongs together. The splitter anchors the front aero balance, the canards fine-tune front end airflow, and the diffuser and fins clean up the wake, while the spoiler trims rear lift. Add the carbon mirror covers for a subtle visual tie-in that complements the lower aero surfaces. Together, the set enhances both function and presence without disrupting the Model Y’s original design language.
Key Specs:
- This part fits only the Tesla Model Y Performance trim for the 2026+ (Juniper generation only).
- The splitter will not fit non-Performance variants or earlier years.
- The upgrade is fully reversible thanks to the snap-fit architecture that mirrors Tesla’s own mounting strategy.
- The splitter is molded pllastic for strength and impact resistance, and matches the trim on the factory black plastic components.
- Its CFD-driven design is engineered to add front downforce, reduce high-pressure air entry beneath the car, and improve high-speed stability.
- For owners seeking a complete solution, the splitter pairs perfectly with the other components in our Model Y Performance Aero Package, each available individually or as a cohesive kit.
Choose the front splitter if you want a genuine performance benefit with a subtle visual aggression benefit, a precise fit that installs like factory equipment, and a visual statement that remains true to the car’s design. Pair it with the rest of the package to unlock the full aero balance we engineered for the Juniper Performance platform and enjoy a sharper, more confident drive every day.

Does this splitter fit a non-Performance Juniper or an older Model Y?
No. It fits only the Tesla Model Y Performance trim of the 2026+ Juniper generation. It will not fit non-Performance variants or earlier model years, because it replaces the factory lower trim specific to the Performance bumper. If your car is a 2020 to 2025 Model Y, the carbon front lip spoiler is the front piece built for that generation instead. Confirm your trim before buying.
What does a front splitter change on a Model Y Performance?
It extends forward from the lower bumper to build a stronger pressure difference between the top and bottom surfaces, which adds front downforce and reduces high-pressure air flowing under the car. The result is a more confident nose that holds its line through mid-corner and stays planted at highway speed. We validated the geometry in CFD to confirm it reduces front lift and does more than change the look.
How many mounting points does it use, and is the install reversible?
The splitter mounts using ten factory-style snap-fit points, so nothing gets cut or drilled and no modification is permanent. You pull the OE lower trim, then position the splitter and press until it snaps home for a rattle-free fit. Reverting to stock takes only minutes and leaves the car unchanged, which is why it suits leased vehicles. It mirrors Tesla’s own mounting strategy rather than fighting it.
Is this carbon fiber?
No, it is molded plastic, chosen for strength and impact resistance in a spot that meets curbs and road debris. The surface is gloss black to match the factory black trim, so the upgrade looks integrated from day one. It handles daily commuting and long highway miles without the chip sensitivity a structural carbon lip would bring at the leading edge.
Can I run the splitter by itself, or does it need the rest of the kit?
It performs well on its own and is the foundation piece of the aero system. It was also shaped to lead the Model Y Performance Full Aero Kit. Combined with the canards, rear diffuser extension, fins, and efficiency spoiler, the package shifts the car from net lift to net downforce in CFD. Buy the splitter first, then add pieces as your budget allows.
Can I fit the splitter at home, or is this a shop job?
Most owners fit it at home in an afternoon, since the snap-fit design needs no special tools. If you are local to the Los Angeles area and would rather hand it off, our Hawthorne team can fit it and quote you an appointment. For a guaranteed clean result, or if you are adding several aero pieces at once, professional install is the easier path.
How is a splitter different from adding canards up front?
The splitter works the entire leading edge, generating the bulk of the front downforce and smoothing airflow beneath the car. Canards work the bumper corners to fine-tune balance. If you buy one front piece, make it the splitter, since it anchors the front aero. Canards then layer on top to trim the balance once the diffuser and spoiler add grip at the rear.
Does the splitter hurt range or efficiency?
By reducing high-pressure air entry under the car, it cleans up front-end airflow rather than simply bolting drag onto the nose. The aero gains show up most at speed, where lift and turbulence cost the most energy. Around town the effect is small. On the highway the more settled front end and cleaner underbody flow are where a Juniper Performance owner feels it.
When does the next batch ship?
The next batch of orders ships at the end of Q1 2026. The listing is available on backorder, so ordering now reserves your place in that run at the $475 price. If you are timing this around a wrap or a larger aero install, reach out first and we will tell you where the queue sits so the parts land when you need them.
Does it look aggressive or stay subtle?
It reads as a subtle, purposeful upgrade rather than a loud body kit. The extended shape gives the fascia a slightly more aggressive stance while staying true to the Juniper’s design language, and the gloss black finish ties into the factory trim. Owners who want presence without shouting tend to like it. Pair it with the carbon mirror covers for a coordinated look.

Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.Â
What are the shipping options and times?
