Q: Are the curb guard rings worth adding?

If you park in city structures or deal with tight curbs, yes. The optional replaceable curb guard rings take the hit at the wheel lip and can be swapped later without pulling the tire, so a scrape does not mean a refinish. Owners who want the cleanest base look can skip them. It comes down to how rough your daily parking really is.
