Q: Do I need the beadlock rings if I only wheel occasionally?

Not necessarily. The functional beadlock ring earns its keep when you air down for rock crawling or sand and need the bead clamped hard. If your off-roading is light dirt roads and the occasional trail at normal pressure, the standard mounting is plenty. You can start street-focused and add serious low-PSI capability later, since the wheel is built for both from the start.
