Q: Do I need the Tesla roof applique for crossbars to install this?

Yes, if your Cybertruck did not come with it. UP INVINCIBLE® side sail and roof rack products mount to the factory sail panel mounting points, and those mounting holes are part of Tesla’s roof applique for crossbars. The applique is required whether you mount the Side Sail MOLLE Rack Set directly to the factory points or to the lower three UP INVINCIBLE® Roof Rack rails.

Some Cybertrucks now ship from Tesla without the applique installed. If yours does not have it, order Tesla’s Cybertruck Roof Applique for Crossbars and install it first. Once those mounting points are in place, your UP parts install exactly as designed with no additional modification.

To check your truck, look along the upper edge of each sail panel where the bed rail meets the cab. If the applique and its crossbar mounting points are there, you are ready to install. If that area is bare, order the Tesla applique first.
