Q: Is the anti-slip knurling on the CYBRHEX just marketing, or does it matter?
It does real work on a torquey EV. The knurling is a textured band inside the barrel, borrowed from F1 engineering, that grips the tire bead to prevent it slipping on the rim when you launch hard or brake suddenly. On a Model Y with instant torque, bead slip is a genuine concern on lightweight performance setups. This feature keeps the tire located and helps preserve balance and handling over time.
