Q: What do side skirts do besides change the look?
They are strategically shaped to smooth airflow down the body side, which helps reduce drag and increase stability at high speeds. So there is a functional side to them beyond aesthetics. That function comes alive when they run with the surrounding UP aero, front and rear. On their own they still tidy the airflow along the flanks.
