Q: What is the cooler made of and why does that matter?
It is machined from billet aluminum with a radial cooling fin heat-sink design, then hard-anodized black for maximum heat rejection. Aluminum with fins sheds heat far better than the factory filter housing, which is the mechanism behind the cooler running temperatures. That construction is also what let it survive testing at Pikes Peak and hard laps at multiple California road courses.
