Q: Why forged aluminum instead of a cheaper cast spacer?
Forging packs the grain of the aluminum tighter than casting, so a forged 6061-T6 spacer is denser, stronger, and more reliable under the repeated load a wheel puts through it. Cast spacers can be brittle by comparison. Since a spacer sits in the load path between hub and wheel, that strength is not a luxury, it is the reason to buy a properly made one.
