Q: Why forged instead of the cast wheel that came on the truck?
Forging presses a solid billet under extreme pressure, which aligns the grain and makes the wheel far more resistant to cracking than a cast rim poured into a mold. On a vehicle as heavy as the Cybertruck, and especially off-road, that impact strength matters when you hit a rock or a hard-edged pothole. Forged also lets us hit the target strength with less material, so the wheel weighs less.
