What comes in the Model S Plaid gloss aero package?
The package pairs two carbon pieces: the Autobahn Carbon Fiber Front Diffuser Spoiler and the Long Tail Trunk Spoiler, both in prepreg carbon with a high-gloss clear coat. Buying them together as a kit gets you a matched front-and-rear aero balance instead of one end working harder than the other, and both pieces install without cutting the car.
What’s the best body kit for a 2021+ Model S that actually improves performance?
Look for a kit engineered for aero rather than styling alone. Many aftermarket Model S body parts chase looks with inferior materials. This one is lightweight carbon fiber, extensively tested to improve downforce and aerodynamic efficiency, so it sharpens high-speed behavior while it cleans up the styling. Front diffuser plus long tail spoiler is the combination that changes how the car feels at speed, not only how it photographs.
Does this kit fit the Model S Plaid as well as the regular Long Range?
Yes. Both components in the package are built for the 2021 and newer Model S platform, which covers Plaid and Long Range alike since they share the same body. The front diffuser is also compatible with the S-APEX cars. You are not buying trim-specific parts here, so a Long Range daily and a Plaid track car take the identical kit.
Why carbon fiber instead of cheaper ABS plastic aero?
Carbon fiber is stiff and light, so aero surfaces hold their shape in the airflow rather than flexing and losing effect. This kit uses prepreg carbon under a gloss clear coat that shows the weave. Molded plastic parts weigh more, flex more, and rarely survive real speed. On a car that can run well into triple digits, the material is doing structural work, not only looking the part.
Roughly what does it cost to have both pieces installed in Los Angeles?
We do not post a flat install figure, since it depends on finish work and any paint protection you add over the base coat. If you are local to LA, tick the install option and our Hawthorne team will reach out with a quote and an appointment. Both parts use no-drill mounting, so labor is modest compared with a full-cut body kit.
Will this kit change my range on the highway?
The package is engineered to improve aerodynamic efficiency, not fight it, so the aim is a cleaner airflow path front and rear. The front diffuser reduces air moving under the car and smooths flow around the front tires, while the long tail shape reduces turbulence off the back. Any highway efficiency effect is small either way. The bigger real-world gains are stability and safety at speed.
Full aero package or just the trunk spoiler on its own?
The standalone long tail trunk spoiler is the lighter buy and mostly addresses the rear. The full package adds the front diffuser so the front axle gets attention too, which is what balances the car front to rear. If you only care about the rear look, start with the spoiler. If you want the aero to actually work as a system, get both, which is what this kit does.
Does the gloss clear coat need extra protection?
The gloss finish shows the carbon weave and is ready to enjoy as-is, but the base coat is a foundation rather than a final protective layer. Warranty coverage excludes cosmetic outcomes such as UV fading and rock chips on unprotected parts. Adding professional clear coat or paint protection film at a local shop is the smart move if the car lives outside and you want the shine to last.
Is the fitment tight, or will there be gaps?
Both pieces are made for the specific contours of the 2021+ Model S, and owners consistently report clean, factory-like fitment on the trunk spoiler. Because the parts mount with automotive-grade adhesive to the existing panels, careful prep and placement during install are what give you tight, even lines. Take your time on the alignment, or let a shop set it.
What warranty backs the carbon parts?
Each carbon component carries a 5 year structural warranty on fitment and functionality for the original owner. That covers the part doing its job and fitting the car, not cosmetic wear on an unprotected base coat. If you protect the finish and install correctly, this is a long-term addition. Full carbon warranty terms are posted on the Unplugged Performance warranty page.
What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?
Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.
This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.
To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.
Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.
What are the shipping options and times?
Unplugged Performance processes orders quickly, typically within 1–2 business days after placement. For U.S. customers, orders under $50 usually ship via FedEx SmartPost with an estimated delivery time of 2–7 business days. Larger items like body kits or bumpers may ship via freight carriers with curbside delivery; customers will be contacted to schedule a delivery window. International shipping is available to most countries, with shipping costs calculated at checkout. Delivery times abroad vary, generally ranging from 5 to 16 business days depending on destination. Import duties or taxes are the customer’s responsibility. To ensure a smooth shipping experience, provide accurate contact information during checkout.
